Gaming supervisors administer gaming operations and personnel in an assigned area. Circulating among the game tables, they make sure that all stations and games are covered for each shift. It also is common for supervisors to interpret the casino’s operating laws for guests. Supervisors can also plan and arrange activities for guests staying in their casino hotels.

Gaming supervisors must have leadership qualities and above average communication skills. They need these abilities both to supervise employees adequately and to greet members in order to boost return visits. Most casino supervisory staff have an associate or bachelor’s degree. Despite their educational background, however, many supervisors gain experience in other casino occupations before moving into supervisory areas because an understanding of games and casino operations is essential for these staff.
