Cambodia Casinos

There is an appealing history to the Cambodia gambling dens that lie just over the dividing line from neighboring Thailand, in which gambling den wagering is not permitted. Eight casinos are established in a relatively small space in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia casinos is in an excellent spot, a three to four hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 most popular betting locations in Asia. Cambodia gambling halls do a thriving business with Thai laborers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very few Westerners. The amazing capital gained from the gambling dens ranges from seven and a half million dollars to more than twelve and a half million dollars, and there are a number of restrictions requirements for gambling den ownership. Ownership is required to be largely Thai; however, financial sources are cryptic. The borders are formally open from 9:00 a.m. to 1700, and despite the fact visas are allegedly needed to cross, there are means around this, as is true of most border crossings.

The first Cambodia gambling halls premiered in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were required to close in 1998, leaving only 1 gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a moored barge casino, highlights 150 slots and sixty table games. The Naga gambling den never closes with 42 tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, 4 tables of twenty-one, ten of roulette, 2 of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The first casino in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon opened. There are one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and five table games at the Golden Crown and 104 one armed bandits and 68 tables at the Holiday Palace. The newer Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features 300 slot machine games and 70 gaming tables and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machines and ninety six gaming tables, including 87 baccarat chemin de fer (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slots and 66 of the familiar table games, as well as a single table of Casino Stud Poker. One more of the eight casinos in Poipet, also a part of a hotel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machine games and 97 casino games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an international resort and hotel complex that features many amenities aside from the gambling den, which houses 10,000 square feet of one hundred and thirty slots and 88 tables.
